“Sustaining e-learning for the future” or “eLearning10″ was the concluding showcase event in the 2010 Australian Flexible Learning Frameworks calendar.

The agenda had a strong focus on how organisations are setting about embedding their e-learning and sustaining that development throughout their practice. Presentation included an instructional design master class, past project leaders who have gone on to build from their initial project taking e-learning across their practice or organisation, then also looking into new and emerging technology, what is coming up on the horizon and how will new research and technology shape our practice.

The conferences hash tag “#eLearning10″ was an insight into the hot topics durning the event:

Beyondedge would like to congratulate everyone at AFLF on a successful event.

Award winning eLearning that saves lives!

Australia is a nation prone to a range of natural, technological and human-caused emergencies. Since 2000, on average each year  24 people have lost their lives as a direct result of natural disasters. Almost 600 have been injured and up to 390,000 affected in some way. The economic cost to communities of natural disasters has been in excess of $3.6 billion annually. Many more people are also affected by human caused emergencies and disasters, with a further significant cost to the nation.

The Australian Safer Communities Awards Queensland ceremony was held on 21 October, recognising best practice and innovation by individuals and organisations that help build safer and more resilient communities across Queensland. Beyondedge was excited to receive word from Queensland Fire and

Rescue Service – Rural  Operations – that they had progressed to the national awards, to be held in Canberra on 29 November 2010.

Beyondedge is please to announce that Steve Rothwell, Assistant Commissioner and Helen Keen-Dyer, Principal Project Manager travelled to Canberra recently to bring back this announcement:

“I am very please to advise that we won our category and came home last night with the National Australian Safer Communities Education and Training Award.”  Helen advises.

“This is a great achievement for Queensland Fire and Rescue Service and for all the hard work that you have supported us in.”

Beyondedge Executive Producer, Duy Huynh comments:

“It’s a testament to the hard work and innovative thinking from the QFRS Rural Ops team that these outcomes have been achieved.  We’re just glad to be a part of the journey.”

Congratulation to the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service – Rural Operations for your commitment to excellence, and to keeping our communities safe.
