Workshop 2:  How do I get my organisation up and running with e-learning?

Presented by: Clint Smith.

This workshop presents a practical approach for implementing web-based learning to achieve business goals in training organisations and business.

Using the “no fuss” model that has been used successfully in a wide range of organisations, Clint Smith will take you through the steps you need to take and demystify the jargon around e-learning.

You will work through a sequence of practical activities to develop an e-learning game plan for your organisation, setting out the products ( courses) to be delivered, the resources required, the delivery options to fit your context and what you need to do to build your e-capability.

You will leave with a clear idea of your options and should be able to begin work on a plan for your organisation that will get you up and running in e-learning.

Clint Smith is Director of LearnWorks, Melbourne, a learning and performance design company which specialises in implementing e-learning.

A qualified instructional designer and experienced consultant, facilitator, researcher and presenter, he has helped a wide range of organisations to design their change management strategies to implement e-learning and achieve business results. His learning designs, performance support tools and information products have won several awards and he has presented at state, national and international conferences.

He is currently Vice President of ElNet, the E-learning Network of Australasia.

Workshop 3: Audio recording for flexible education..

Presented by: Stephan Ridgway

This full day workshop will give you the skills to get started using Audacity, a free tool to record and edit sound files and also how to edit your files and embed them as podcasts in a variety of contexts.

Audio files  are an effective way of presenting information to your learners – they can listen learn anywhere with an ipod or smartphone, on the train, cooking dinner, walking the dog….and require much less bandwidth than video.

Stephan is highly skilled in e-learning technology and how it applies to the particular student experience a teacher is wanting to create. His mastery of audio – recording, editing and podcasting and his enthusiasm to help others achieve a quality recording will make this a day you can’t miss if you are interested in using audio for your learning.
