Gold Coast INDIE Film and TV Network presents: The Final Cut!

The Final Cut

The latest release of Final Cut (Final Cut Pro X) has been a point of controversy amongst not only the film and television community but the general public as well. Where previous versions of this reputable program have been utilised to create high profile films such as The Social Network, Napoleon Dynamite and 300, this latest version is cause of great debate. Is it revolutionary or irrelevant? To answer these questions and many more Gold Coast Indie Film and Television Network (GCIFTN) founder Caroline Russo, with the assistance of local film maker Steven Caldwell, has pulled together a panel of local editing experts including Lincoln Williams (Flipper, Beastmaster and Street Fighter), Duy Huynh (Beyondegde), Matt Ferguson and Aaron Nichol (Net Byte) and special guest, Chairman of The Board of The Arts Centre Gold Coast, Mr Kerry Watson, for an eye opening GCIFTN event, on Wednesday 28 September at The Arts Centre Gold Coast.

With Final Cut Pro X, Apple have release editing software completely different to the previous instalments. Although some feel this technology exceeds the capabilities of the last, critics have labelled it iMovie Pro. The debate continues to pick up momentum with high-profile celebrities including Conan O’Brien weighing in on the debate (check out the You-tube clip below).
