A new era of eLearning has entered the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training market!

Together Beyondedge and Ignite Education have changed the way we will learn how to responsibly serve alcohol. Government regulation has recently been passed, requiring all employees in the Hospitality Industry, hold an RSA Certificate if they wish to be employed in Queensland.

A sudden dash by training organisations to develop eLearning has left the learner scared and lacking faith in eLearning as a resource to support their career development.

The training organisation has been profit focussed and no consideration has been given to develop a quality learning resource. We’ve seen many read-a-thons online, no engagement or compelling nature to them at all. It scared us, though excited us at the same time. The opportunity was there and Beyondedge rose to the challenge. This Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITFABOO9A) eLearning course is completely online and recognised by the Office of Liquor Gaming Regulation.

Are you looking into an RSA course? Explore our Virtual Bar and understand how many standard drinks are in all the different glasses. Then assess yourself in calculate mode, get more then two wrong and your out and will need to start again. We really enjoyed the development of this RSA course at Beyondedge and we hope the learners will enjoy it as well. We’d love to know what you think of our elearning, join us on one of our social channels for a chat: Facebook, twitter or Linkedin.

Over 1200 delegates from around the world with speakers from Europe, Hong Kong the UK and USA. With more then 100 exhibitors spread across 7,00sqm of floor space, showing off the latest gear, gagdets and information to support emergency services before during and after critical events.

Beyondedge attended and showcased some of our eLearning develop for this area. We watched the conversation online and found the trend was centered towards social media. A buzz before, during and after the talks, everyone wanted to know more about using the tools online to communicate in a more effective way during emergencies. The event speakers also covered community engagement through this medium to support the dissemination of their preventative education. Congratulations to the organisers, we’re looking forward to next year.

Fire Chiefs and Commissioners from every State and Territory will be joined by overseas fire agency heads from New Zealand, Hong Kong and the Pacific Islands. SES Commissioners from around the country will network with other senior emergency service practitioners from the region and leading national and international experts and researchers will be at the AFAC & Bushfire CRC conference, running over four days, at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour.
The theme of the conference is New World, New Thinking, focusing on how fire and emergency services can adapt and respond to changing expectations in public safety.
The opening keynote speaker is Ben Self, founder of Blue State Digital in Kentucky, US and noted for providing a variety of technology and communication services to the successful 2008 Barack Obama presidential campaign. He will talk about using the internet and social media to engage the community.
Other invited speakers include Sir Ken Knight, HM Chief Inspector of Fire Services, UK, and Gregory Lo, Director of Fire Services, Hong Kong Fire Services Department, who will talk about their work. Professor Jose Torero, Head, Institute for Infrastructure and Environment at the University of Edinburgh, will talk about smart buildings and how the World Trade Center towers might still be standing.
Leading researchers will present their work and there will be a big display of research posters. The Bushfire CRC’s work will feature strongly during the Science Day on the final day of the conference.

The conference is being held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour, Australia from Monday 29 August to Thursday 1 September 2011.
